The Music Cube Safeguarding Policy

(Effective from August 1st 2024)

Recording Policy

Recording lessons is prohibited unless agreed upon in advance. Any recordings must not be shared with third parties or posted on social media without consent.

Behaviour and Conduct

Defamatory, offensive, or illegal content, or any inappropriate behaviour by the Student, will lead to the immediate termination of the lesson. The Teacher may withdraw from the agreement without refund at their discretion.

Supervision

The Music Cube supervises young students (under 18) during the arranged lesson time, but parents are responsible at other times. We do not provide before or after class care. If abuse is suspected or disclosed, staff will contact the relevant authorities and act on their advice.

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check

William Davey, as head of The Music Cube, and all teachers, adhere to ISM’s (Independent Society of Musicians) code of practice, maintain public liability insurance, hold valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificates, and undergo regular safeguarding training.

Compliance with Safeguarding Advice

Teachers agree to follow ISM (Independent Society of Musicians) safeguarding advice related to music teaching.

Legal Compliance

Both Student and Teacher agree to comply with all relevant laws, including GDPR
